Bed Bugs and Furniture

Bed bugs are most commonly found on, underneath and inside of your furniture when invading your home.

One of the major bed bug related decisions people have to make when dealing with an infestation is what to do with their furniture.

Bed bug treatments can be expensive and costs can increase exponentially if you have to replace your bedding, mattress, bedframe or couch.

Our heat treatment eliminates your bed bug problem and allows you to keep your furniture with no risk.

However, if you do decide you want to get rid of your furniture, there are some things you should consider.

First and foremost, discard your furniture after your home has been treated and cleared of infestation by a professional bed bug exterminator. This will not only help stop the spread of bed bugs to other homes, but prevent the spread of bed bugs to other rooms and areas of your own home.

Make sure that your bed bug infested mattress or other furniture is taken apart, defaced, and/or damaged before you out in on the curb to insure that no passer-by picks it up and brings it home to use.

You should also wrap the furniture in plastic before removing it from your home, especially if you are living in an apartment building, to help prevent spreading the insects when moving the furniture.

Clearly marking it as “do not take”, and putting it out as close to pick-up time as possible will also help limit the spread of bed bugs.
